AGARTALA, Jan 8 (TIWN): National Institute of Technology has scheduled to organize a two-day long Annual Alumni Meet -2016 to be held at Nazrul Kalashetra on January 9.
Reportedly, it the programme, MP Jitendra Choudhury is expected to remain present at the programme. Besides, Padmashri professor Deepak B Pathak, Chairman BOG of NIT Agartala is expected to grace the function in the presence of Director of NIT Agartala Professor Gopal Mugeraya, Dean (AA&IA), NIT Agartala, Engineer R. K Majumder Presidentof NIT Agartala Alumni and others are expected to remain present.
During the programme, Felicitation of Branch Toppers, Reception of Retired Teaching and Non-Teaching staff of NITA (TEC), Batch wise reception of Alumni (1970-2015), Felicitation of Silver Jubilee Alumni (Batch 1990) and outside members will be organized.
As per the decision of the 5th meeting of the council of NITs held on September14, 2012 in New Delhi an "Endowment Fund" is to be opened for contributions from alumni for the purpose of development of the Institute. Accordingly a separate bank account in the name of "Endowment Fund" has been opened.
The Tripura Engineering College established in 1965. The college started with only three under graduate courses and few faculties.
Now it has enhanced the courses to eight undergraduate programmes, seven Post graduate programmes and six centres for Doctoral Research. Nearly 6,000 alumni of this Institute now spread all over the globe.
It is to be mentioned here that the Institute is being administered by the Director of the Institute with direct supervision of Board of Governors (BOG) headed by Chairman as the Institute is registered under Societies Registration Act, 1860.
The policy for academic activity will be made through Senate with prior approval of the Board of Governors and implemented through Dean (Academic). The Planning and Development of the institute is being implemented through Dean (Planning & Co-ordination) whereas the student’s affairs are being looked after by Dean.
