KAMALPUR, Jan 7 (TIWN): The dreams and aspirations ceased to spring around the foliages. Stretches of land remained barren. And the labor unrest became a daily trait at there. The situation deteriorates during bonus. The ration, medical facilities and the dwellings of the laborers were sectors of worry. All those resulted in the destruction of dreams and hopes that once arose centering the Ramdurlabhpur Tea Estate here at Kamalpur.
The situation became so worse that, the employees planned to leave the garden in search of better place. In that period of turmoil, Ajoy kumar Singh became the Manager in 2007. And till now, the garden witnessed an abrupt change.
The laborers got aluminum sheet roofed houses instead of thatched houses. The ration, medical facilities remained no more a restraint. The workers got a fixed increase of 20 percent in bonus every year. It brought back the work culture and made the situation calm.
The machineries of the Estate also been transformed. New and most modern drier, heater got introduced. The largest weigh bridge measuring 40 tons got set at the Estate. The Estate also had three tractors, one ambulance and four motor bikes. The irrigation system also got mechanized.
The barren lands got newly planted. In this year 7 hectares of lands got planted. Many plants got replaced and in-filled. The Estate also got subsidy from Tea Board. All these resulted in a steady growth in the business of the Estate. At the same time new employments being created. As a result, new dreams and aspirations started to being sprung up with new horizons.
