Altogether 4,818 schools of all categories in the state and Biometric machines will be installed in all the schools to record attendance in a phased manner according to U.K. Acharjee, Deputy Director of school education.
In first phase the system will be introduced in West Tripura and Sipahijala districts and also other six more districts in phase manner in order to ensure the best possible service of teachers to the students.
For inspection and monitoring of schools , School Education introduce Biometric attendance as last two years Education dept had failed to rein in growing tendency for malingering and shirking work by teachers in schools and the problem is very serious in the primary section of schools in remote areas.
