AGARTALA, Jan 1 (TIWN): Education Minister Tapan Chakraborty on Friday inaugurated the Directorate of Elementary Education at the premises of the state project Director, SSA Rajya Mission.

It is to be mentioned here that the existing department of school education has been reorganised into two separate directorates, namely, directorate of secondary education and directorate of elementary education.

However, Education minister Tapan Chakraborty inaugurated the Directorate of elementary education in presence of other dignitaries in the stage.

Inaugurating the Directorate of elementary education on Friday said that elementary education refers to the first phase of compulsory education that children obtain during the few years of starting schooling. This education has specific goals that meet the special needs that children have. The benefits of this education cannot be underestimated and all efforts are directed at ensuring that this education gets universally recognized.

Education can be considered to be the most vital asset that the society has because knowledge is the priceless wealth that people will never mislay under any circumstances, and the further the knowledge gets shared, the further it will advance. Therefore, elementary education forms the foundation for gaining basic knowledge without which the dream of children will become impossible, added Chakraborty.

Elementary education offers children an opportunity to have a group that is stable to interact.

However, DR.K.Rajeswara Rao, Principal Secretary Education department, DR.PK Goyal Directorate of secondary education department along with dignitaries remained present in the program.
