AGARTALA, Dec 29 (TIWN): Although police has lodged an FIR against the expelled former CPM MLA Manoranjan Acharjee for his alleged involvement in a sexual abuse case of a minor girl long back, after passage of several days, Tripura police is yet stuck with investigation. Talking to TIWN correspondent, DSP Head Quarter, Gomati Meena Kumari Debbarma on Monday said that the case is undergoing investigation. A general diary entry is done against the accused and is police is still now investigating the case. Police also said that Acharjee will soon be called in police station for interrogation and necessary action will be taken. It is to be mentioned here that the heinous incident took place on November 27. Besides, allegation has been raised that the big heads of the ruling party has intentionally hushed up the matter and remained silent. Interestingly, the party brought the incident into limelight only after the Municipal Election has concluded. Besides, the party has not given a chance to Acharjee to clarify his stand on the allegations levelled against him. Although the Mother of a five and half year old girl has submitted separate written complaints to Chief Minister Manik Sarkar and CPM party secretary Bijan Dhar before the election but the party remained silent over the issue till the election gets over.It is to be mentioned here that in the letter, the mother and her father alleged that MLA Manoranjan Acharjee had sexually abused her girl who used to visit him quite often.
However, it is sensed that police is intentionally delaying the case in the name of investigation to save him from the punishment of the law. Therefore, after prolonged many days have passed after the lodged of the FIR, alleged accused former CPM MLA Manoranjan Acharjee yet roaming free.
The delay in the progress in the case raises question that like any other case in Tripura the MLA Manoranjan issue will also linger for years in the name of investigation.
However, after so many days has passed police is yet stuck with the so called investigation and till day could not arrest the expelled former CPM MLA Manoranjan Acharjee. It is alleged that only to save him from the legal actions of law police is intentionally delaying the case in the name of so called investigation.
