AGARTALA, Dec 28 (TIWN): Alongwith the Nation, Tripura Pradesh Congress also celebrated the 131st foundation day of Indian National Congress on Monday at Congress Bhawan.

To mark the celebration of the 131st foundation day of Indian National Congress, Pradesh Congress Committee President on Monday hosted the National flag; Congress MLA Ashish Saha hosted the party flag.

Besides, Youth Congress President Sushanta Choudhury hosted the flag of Youth Congress and NSUI Secretary Rakesh Das has hosted the NSUI flag.

Later, party leaders alongwith the members and the supporters presented floral tribute to the martyrs at Gandhighat.

It is to be mentioned here that the Indian National Congress has been founded in the year 1885 on December 28. The Congress Party was first founded by Allan Octavian Hume.

Hume managed to get the Viceroy’s approval to create the Indian National Congress on May, 1885.

On December 28, 1885, the Indian National Congress was founded at Gokuldas Tejpal Sanskrit College in Bombay with 72 delegates.

However, along with the capital, the day is being celebrated various other parts of the state.
