AGARTALA, Dec 28 (TIWN): Tripura Cha-Mazdoor Union on Monday placed deputation to the Labour Commissioner at the Labour Directorate office, mentioning that the Tripura Tea workers are deprived from various benefits.
The union demanded to enhance the wages of the labours working at the tea garden for extra hours.
Besides, mentioning about the tripartite agreement, they said that according to the agreement after working for continues six years the chief of the labour gets promoted to sub-staff but here the chief of the labour has been deprived from the right.
They further demanded to renovate the houses of the tea workers, to provide the expenditure to the workers who have already built their houses spending from their own pockets, to provide employment to the unemployed workers of the concern area, to arrange doctors in the Tea Estate so that the labour could do their treatment.
Besides, they also demanded to reopen all the four Tea Estates in Kailashahar through the Tripura Tea Development Corporation Limited.
However, they also complained that the workers of the Tea Estate are not getting any kind of Provident Fund and Pension.
Therefore, they demanded that the workers would get the facilities from EPF Office and all sorts of claims would be settled down. Besides, they also urged the concern authority to identify the people who are not depositing the Provident Fund due to the EPF organization.
