AGARTALA, Dec 13 (TIWN): The sabroom court on Sunday sent one BSF Jawan of 10 BN to 9 days of jail custody till December 21 in allegation of rape of a minor.

Amidst the crowd of the election result, a 10-year-old school girl was brutally gang raped by BSF jawans at Tripura Border on Saturdayafternoon. A police complaint was lodged against the jawan at Sabroom police station later on Saturday night. Based on the complaint lodged by the victim family, the police arrested the jawan.

Accordingly the accused was produced before the sabroom court and the court has sent him to 9 days of jail custody till December 21.

Reportedly the incident took place on Saturday afternoon when the minor girl, a student of class four, resident of Baishnabpur had gone near the border at gate number 3 in a Jungle to collect coconut leaf for her school project, her family informed.  However, she was forcefully taken to an isolated place and was raped by the jawan of 10 BSF BN of Baishnabpur under Sabroom PS. On the basis of complaint lodged by her Parents police arrested the culprit for interrogation.

However, when she did not return home till evening, her family looked for her with the help of other local people. After searching for a while they found the girl in an abandoned place near the border. She was found in unconscious condition and was left with serious injury. 

However, the girl was immediately taken to hospital for treatment and the family members of the victim lodged complaint against the jawans.

Police is further investigating the case.
