AGARTALA, Dec 10 (TIWN): CPI-M state committee expelled its heavy weight leader cum MLA Manoranjan Acharjee for being accused of moral degradation. Also CPI-M state committee forced MLA Manoranjan Acharjee to resign from Assembly seat from immediate effect.
According to a highly placed sources of Melarmath it is learnt that an internal investigation was going against Manoranjan Acharjee for mollesting a minor girl.
The report came recently and immediately the Party's state committee expelled Manoranjan Acharjee from party membership.
Moreover, Acharjee , under the instruction from the party was forced to resign from the Member of Legislative Assembly.
Manoranjan Acharjee was not only CPI-Ms state committee member but also the MLA from Birganj Assembly Constituency.
His expulsion raised the issue of moral degradation among CPI-M party's members due to its continuous rule for a long period in Tripura.
However Chief Minister Manik Sarkar still protecting close associates like MGNREGA scamster Bimal Chakraborty, against whom Police failed to file chargesheet till date due to CM's blessings.
