BELONIA, Dec 8 (TIWN): South Tripura administration geared up for the Municipality to be held on Wednesday. All the polling personnel assigned to the election have made their way to their destination at all the polling booths by today. Besides, the police had already set up an elaborate arrangements with other security forces and the local police are deployed across South Tripura to maintain law and order situation during the poll day.
The voting will commence from 8 AM and would be continued till 5 PM. Observers/Sector Officers had been appointed for the smooth conduct of the election. To ensure a violence free election and to avoid any pre-poll untoward incidents, a full proof security arrangement has been made by the administration, said an official source. To drop infiltration through Indo-Bangla international boundary in state at zero, Border Security Force (BSF) put the border on high alert.
To conduct a free, fair and peaceful Municipality election, around 21 companies of armed Central Para Military Force will be deployed in the polling stations, strong rooms and counting halls while a vast contingent of TSR jawans and police personnel would maintain the general law and order during the election, the source informed.
