AGARTALA, Dec 6 (TIWN): On the 60th death anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar annually as ‘Mahaparinirvan Din’, Scheduled Caste (SC) Welfare Minister Ratan Bhowmik on Sunday paid floral tributes to a statue of Dr. B R Ambedkar in front of Ujjayanta Palace.
Along with the Nation, the State also observed the 60th death anniversary of Dr. Babasaheb Bhim Rao Ambedkar.
A meeting on the memory of Dr. B.R Ambedkar has been organized where students of most of the schools has participated.
abasaheb Ambedkar, principal architect of the Indian Constitution, breathed his last on December 6, 1956. He was born on April 14, 1891 in Mhow, Madhya Pradesh.
Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar was born in the year 1891 in the month of April 14. He is popularly known as Babasaheb.
He was an Indian jurist, economist, politician and social reformer who inspired the Modern Buddhist Movement and campaigned against social discrimination against Untouchables (Dalits), while also supporting the rights of women and labour.
However, He was Independent India's first law minister and the principal architect of the Constitution of India. He died in the year 1956 on December 6.
