AGARTALA, Dec 6 (TIWN): Tripura University to organize a nine-day long film making workshop on December 7 at Maharaja Bir Bikram Satabarsiki Bhawan auditorium.
Reportedly, the workshop is going to be conducted by the film division, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in association with Tripura University.
The programme will continue till December 15.
This nine day workshop is indeed a festival in itself wherein the participants will also be able to see some of selected films of Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) in different categories like documentary, short film and animation films.
The workshop is aimed at imparting hands on experience on film making for the aspiring film-makers, enrolled in the newly launched course on B. Voc (Bachelor of Vocational Education) in film and video production, where film making is a part and parcel of the course curriculum.
It is to be mentioned here that the inaugural ceremony will be presided over by professional Anjan Kumar Ghosh, Vice-chancellor of Tripura University.
However, on this occasion Deputy Director General of the Films Division under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting Joshy Joseph along with his team of technical experts and resource persons will provide hands on training with regard to the art of film making.
Detailing about the programme, it has been mentioned that the workshop has been divided into three phase- Script Writing, Cinematography and Editing.
The basic aim of the workshop is to provide a link to the students between academics, creativity and industry.
However, Cinematographer Mahesh Madhavan, Editor Sumit Ghosh, Sound designer Namita Naiyak Chopra and other will also remain present at the programme.
