AGARTALA, Dec 4 (TIWN): Just when only counting days are left for the upcoming celebration of the Poush Sankranti, two potholes witnessed in front of the inaugural stage.
Allegation has been raised against the concern authority that despite of knowing the deplorable condition of the road they are taking any initiatives.
Poush Sankranti fair commonly known as Tirthamukh mela is one of the most important fairs in Tripura where a large number of people participate, including many tribal groups from the neighbouring state.
Locals complained that due to lack of proper planning and initiative last year also the participants had to face problem for the potholes. As the pothole were covered up by mud.
The renovation has been done spending huge amount of money of RD Block, but again the potholes showed up this year during the monsoon.
Locals alleged that if the contractors would have worked properly than these potholes would not have occurred again.
Besides, the locals also demanded that if drains would have constructed in the area than it would have helped to change the course of water. However, it would have lead to fewer occurrences of potholes.
However, ADM, SDM , BDO and RD Executive engineers had invigilated the area earlier but yet today no initiative has been taken to solve the problem of the area.
