AGARTALA, Nov 25 (TIWN): Resentment brews among people of Gokulnagar after the construction of around 4 kilometre of road has stopped for prolonged one and half year causing harassment for among the people of the area.

According to the sources reports, the construction work for the around 4 kilometre of road which connects Gokulnagar – Kamalasagar covering 12 kilometre.

People all across the area are facing harassment due to the poor condition of the road, complained a local.

Several potholes have formed on the internal street and it becomes very difficult for two-wheeler riders to ride.

People pay road tax and other fees of vehicles but in return they get such state of bad roads to ply on. Such bad conditions of roads leads to more consumption of petrol and diesel and results in more wear and tear of vehicles, thus subject the consumers/general public to spend more on running of their vehicles.

However, Government should take note of the bad condition of roads and direct the concerned to repair, the conditions of the roads. Locals and the vehicle owners should not have to suffer due to such deplorable condition of the road.

The prolonged deplorable condition of the road is creating huge problem for the passerby and vehicle riders. Besides, the resident of both the sides of the road is facing huge problem due to such pathetic condition of the road, said the local.

They also mentioned that for several times they have place deputation to the SDM but till day no initiatives has been taken to improve the condition of the condition of the road.

Besides, the locals claimed that the agency has laid down brick chips and mud on the road one and half year ago causing problem to the locals as well as the vehicle riders.

However, on one hand where the ministerial authority claims to make the capital a smart city, on the other hand the citizens of the state are facing prolonged harassment due to the deplorable condition of the road.
