SANTIRBAZAR, Nov 19 (TIWN): Final match of Anil Baidya Memorial Football Tournament played on Wednesday at Jolaibari, Shantirbazar. Anil Baidya, a Kisan leader was abducted and killed by NLFT ultras. Couple of thousand spectators enjoyed the match. Renowned gymnast of the country Smt. Deepa Karmaker and her coach Sri Bisweshwar Nandi were also felicitated on the occasion.

Sports & games is one of the important tools to shape the body and minds of the youth and as well as of the nation. But unfortunately this area is totally neglected in our country since independence. Less than 1p.c. of our GDP is spent against sports & games, says MP Jitem Choudhury.
