AGARTALA, Nov 16 (TIWN): In a bizarre incident, on Monday early morning a thief was brutally beaten up by the locals residing near Melarmath.
The accused thief is identified as Suman Das.
It has nearly become impossible to leave behind an empty house. Keeping the police administration on toes, the theft incidents are increasing at Agartala in an alarming rate.
Recently, a wanted thief from Melarmath was brutally beaten up by the local public in allegation of stealing the automobile parts mostly from the vehicles including internal combustion engines which are manufactured components of automobiles including the batteries engine of the car which are parked along the road-side.
Battala police personnel said that this thief was also earlier accused of stealing goods, cash and gadgets worth hefty amount from different shops as well as different households of different areas in different cases and he was recently released from jail after he was sent to jail in allegation of stealing goods.
Reportedly, on Monday early morning, while the thief Suman Das was trying to steal the automobile parts from the car the local caught him and brutally beaten him up on the road side. As a result the thief received grievous injurious on his body.
Getting alarm, Battala Police personnel reached the spot and rescued the thief from the hand of the public.
However, police is further investigating the case.
