AGARTALA, Oct 28 (TIWN): There are report of complete breakdown of law and order in the Agartala Municipal Corporation areas adjacent to Indo –Bangla international border. People residing there are at constant fear due terror unleashed by mafia’s and anti- social elements. They are openly roaming with firearms. If demands are not fulfilled the miscreants threatened the people of dire consequences. The helpless common people have to face the brunt of those miscreants, either they are injured or get killed.

One incident of murder and several injuries  happened at South Rajnagar of  AMC ward no 10 couple of days back. Seeing the present situation locals are in doubt whether there exists rule of law in the area. Few years back police used to  undertake regular  raid against the anti – social elements. The notorious criminals went underground to evade from the arrest.

After the brutal murder of  Abdul Manan in broad day light the criminals returned to their earlier form. The police have become  defunct in the bordering areas. Any kinds of activity to stop the menace of the criminals have been undertaken.  

The area from border gul chakkar to joypur has become a safe hub for all the notorious criminals. The criminals reportedly have developed a cordial relation with some ruling party leaders and some lower rank police officers. They every time get free hand after committing any kind of criminal offences.
