SABROOM, Oct 19 (TIWN): Crisis of petroleum products mostly petrol/diesel in Sabroom has taken worst turn for last few days, as movement of vehicles on street has reduced that resulted a problem for the daily commuters. Most of the diesel/petrol driven public vehicles stayed off the roads for past few days due to fuel crisis. Only CNG run vehicles are in operation but there is also a crisis in supply because of CNG here at Sabroom Sub Division. Taking the advantage of shortage of supply and non-monitoring of market, a litter of diesel is being sold at Rs 100-150 in the black market in Agartala. Due to the crisis we are bound to buy the diesel from black market, said a Bus driver.
This acute shortage has forced petrol pumps to ration the fuel. In Sabroom Town requires a total of 20,000 liters of diesel/petrol per day. In Sabroom Petrol Pump they have put the board of no diesel and no petrol.
It is to be mentioned here that, a acute fuel crisis hits Sabroom and common people had blocked the NH44 road today morning near Sabroom Petrol Pump area and were not allowing any vehicle to ply. A lot of consumers panicked and some even started shouting slogans. They demand for more petrol diesel during Durga puja.
