AGARTALA, Oct 17 (TIWN): Severe resentment is brewing among IAS officers regarding the appointment of IFS ( Indian Forest Service ) officers in administrative service. The agitated officers have protested the policy of the government. It has been observed that for last few years it has been noticed that the state government is more interested in posting IFS officers’ in administration depriving efficient IAS officers.

Few weeks back an IFS officr Chiatynamurthy was appointed as special secretary in social welfare and social education department. But IFS officers are generally posted in forest department. But the left front government is posting them in administration. Earlier VK Bahuguna was appointed as principal secretary, present secretary of science and technology department is Surender Kumar is an IFS, the director of Industries and Commerce, George Jenner is also on IFS.

Sources said a delegate of IAS officers has met the chief secretary Y P Singh to protest such appointments. The chief secretary in this regard have no role to play, the decision are taken by the council of ministers whom to appoint in which department. Newly appointed special secretary  ChatanyaMurhty is on leavem he will join afte Durga Puja. The socal welfare and social education department was in the charge of M.Nagaraju. On this issue IAS officer are not saying anything in open but serious resentment is brewing among them.

 On Friday there was meeting of Public Account Committee (PAC)  meeting. Secretary of all department attends the meeting but reportedly Nagraju did not attend the meeting. The meeting was attended by director of the department.
