Agartala, Oct 16 (TIWN): M F Farooqui, IPS, has assumed the charge of the Inspector General of BSF, Tripura Frontier, Salbagan on 16th Oct 2015. M F Farooqui is a master degree holder from Allahabad University and joined the Indian Police Service in the year 1995. An officer of the Punjab cadre he has served in various capacities in the state of Punjab.
He was promoted to the rank of Deputy Inspector General in the year 2008 and joined BSF on deputation as Dy Inspector General in Amristar sector on 30th May 2013. Before assuming the charge of Inspector General of Tripura frontier he was discharging the duties of DIG sector HQ Amristar. He took over the charge in place of B N Sharma, who left this frontier on 31st Aug’2015 on superannuation.
M F Farooqui, IPS is a highly decorated officer and recipient of the prestigious “President Police Medal for Meritorious Service” in the year 2010.
