AGARTALA, Oct 9 (TIWN): Locals residing near the Kamalpur Government College raised allegation against the poor construction work of the college boundaries.
Reportedly, the boundary wall has been constructed last year with the allocated fund of UGC.
PWD department has provided the work to a construction agency in the beginning of the last year, said a local. At first, the locals had complaint against the poor quality construction of the college but no initiative has been taken.
The locals mentioned that despite of urging several times to stop the poor quality construction, the contractors continues with the poor construction as the college authority had played a silent role.
Finally when resentment brewed up among the locals, Executive officer Partha Chakraborty has ordered to demolish the boundary wall which the locals complained about.
Locals complained that the contractor has used poor quality bricks, cement and sand. Besides, no water has been poured after the construction the walls.
However, they also alleged that the amount allocated by the UGC has not been fully used.
