AGARTALA, October 7 (TIWN): Four-day long 43rd State Level Science Fair has been organized on Tuesday at Umakanta Academy.
Social Welfare & Social Education Minister Bijita Nath inaugurated the programme in the presence of Dr. Gagan Gupta, Reader, NCERT, Surender Kumar, Secretary of Department of Science, Technology and Environment and others.
Altogether 56 models were displayed in the fair.
During the programmes, the dignitaries bringing together students from urban and rural high schools, the fair enabled to raise awareness of science amongst schools across the region. The Local students of the rural schools should be actively encouraged, giving them a chance to participate in events like science fair.
However, they also mentioned that if the students get proper training, they could help it vault over emerging country competitors.
Besides, improving science education, and thereby attracting more young people to the sciences, is a credit for the state.
However, they also urged that along with focusing in the development in the field of science, the students must be encouraged towards the environment as well.
