AGARTALA, October 6 (TIWN): Demanding for immediate make up of UGC VII th pay review committee, Tripura College Teachers’ Association (TCTA) on Monday organized a protest rally from Women’s College.
They demanded to grant MHRD approval of the UGC decisions on the 3rd Amendments of the UGC Regulations- 2010 and Amendment to Ph.D Regulation 2009. They further demanded to ensure meeting of the Minister- HRD with ALFUCTO – FEDCUTA to discuss and resolve the long- standing professional demands and to fix an appointment for the same.
Besides, they also urged to withdraw CBCS and Central University Bill, 2013, Expedite promotions and fillings of lakhs of vacant posts as per the GOI Reservation Policy for SC/ ST/ OBC/ PWD to ensure access of inclusive quality Higher Education and to resolve CPF – GPF issue and grant pension to all appointed before 1.1.1986 as per the GOI Policy and to withdraw new pension scheme – 2004 and ensure regular pension to all.
However, they also demanded to extend dates for RC and OC up to December 2015 and to grant UGC pay scales to all categories of teachers, librarians, DPEs and other academic staff. Besides, to resolve anomalies of VI th Pay Commission and ensure stepping up and many others.
