Agartala, Oct 2 (TIWN): The High Court of Tripura directed the state government to submit report related to financial embezzlement amounting to crore of rupees in various blocks including Bishalghar. The report should be submitted by October 31st.
The court will remain close for Durga Puja, but the division bench directed the high court registry to remain open during puja vacation. The state government report will be received by the registry. Besides, copies of the report also be sent by courier or post office to the petitioner of the case.The decision to keep the court register open and receive important document during vacation is of great significant, think law expert.
It is mentionable here that on Thursday, the state government was to submit affidavit related to financial embezzlement in various blocks. The petitioner filed a case in the court was demanding CBI investigation. But it was not submitted and demanded more days. After hearing the divison bench of Chief Justice Deepak Gupta and Justice S. Talapatra gave one month time to submit the affidavit. The next hearing of the case was schedule to hold on November 17.On that day the final hearing for CBI investigation likely to be given.
The counsel for the writ petitioner Sandip Datta Choudhury said that the state government requested more twenty days, but the division bench rejected the request. Not only Bishalghar few other blocks are also involved with the scandal.
