KAILASHAHAR, September 30 (TIWN): In allegation of Rs. 64 Lakh of embezzlement of the MGNGERA and PDF fund, District Congress President Badarudh Jaman on Wednesday demanded proper investigation and strict action against the involved members of Srinathpur Panchayat of Kailashahar.
Speaking in a Press Conference, District Congress President said that if any strict action is not taken against the members then they would be bound to go for massive protest.
While addressing the media at Kailashahar Congress Bhawan, District Congress President Badarudh Jaman mentioned that elected members of Congress and two independents members of Srinathpur Panchayat of Kailashahar on Tuesday last, filled an FIR against the former BDO, Pradhan and a Panchayat Secretary at Irani Police Station.
However, he further said that Former BDO Anupam Chakraborty, Pradhan Aliya Begum and Panchayat Secretary Humenuddin were involved in the embezzlement of the Rs. 64 Lakh of fund under MGNGERA and PDF fund.
Raising voice against the corruption, independents member of Srinathpur Panchayat Rusmat Ali complained that altogether Rs. 64 lakh of the MGNGERA and PDF fund of the financial year 2014-2015 has been grasped by the alleged memberss.
Detailing about the embezzlement, it has been mentioned that funds were sanctioned for digging 93 ponds but there are no records of 53 ponds. Besides, it has been said that for digging of two irrigation canal, funds has been sanctioned in three half and for many other work as well but all the funds are vanish.
However, they are expecting strict investigation against the corrupt officials.
