AGARTALA, September 29 (TIWN): One-day long orientation cum training programme on Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) has been organized on Tuesday at Pragna Bhawan.

Public Works Minister Ratan Bhowmik on Tuesday unfurled the programme by lighting an inaugural lamp.

During the technical session, the dignitaries have discussed about the importance of Solid and Liquid Waste Management (SLWM) in rural areas and the role of PRI bodies in Solid and Liquid Waste Management.

At the first technical session, the dignitaries also discussed about the preparation of GP/ VC wise SLWM action plan and the activities to be taken up for declaration of Open Defection Free Village. Later, the first technical session closed with an interactive session.

However, during the second Technical Session the dignitaries have discussed about the importance of IEC and HRD activities in Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) programme and the role of PRI bodies in IEC & HRD activities. Later, the session concluded with an interactive session.
