AGARTALA, September 29 (TIWN): Thousands of job seekers queued for several hours at Umakanta Academy in a desperate attempt to nab one of more than 300 vacancies.
The job hopefuls began queuing from morning before the office time for a Government job on Monday.
More than two thousand candidates queued around the staircase of Umakanta Academy for a job in the Revenue Department.
However, the candidates had to wait for their number for long hours as the queue of the job seekers was very long. There was a huge crowd observed inside at the corridors of the Department offices in scorching heat.
It has been observed the both the queues of boys and girls were very long and had been eagerly waiting for their turn.
However, the scenario of huge crowd job seekers in front of the Department shows the number of educated unemployed in the state. As the State lacks proper opportunities for the youth and besides, the youth do not have option to work in any private sectors where they can use their skills and also do not had to stay unemployed.
Though the number of literacy is increasing day by day in the state, the number of unemployment are also increasing on the other hand, complaints a candidate.
However, one of the job seeker claimed that it would have been helpful for us if the private companies are being set over here. There are very least chances of getting Government jobs but there would have been any private companies we would have opt for it.
