KAMALPUR, Sept 28(TIWN): Often the ‘men with the uniform’ forgot that they got deployed for the service and protection of the commoners. And police still could not jerk off the manner of the British days when they were used to curb the freedom fighters. Even after 68 years of our independence, police could be so inhuman that not finding a person at home the cops could ransack the furniture.
The sheer and shameful incident of police atrocity occurred last evening at Lambucharra around 7-45 pm. Cops from Kamalpur police station led by O.C. Swapan Dasgupta raided the house of some Biswajit Ghosh adjacent to Lambucharra market.
Police entered the house of Biswajit around 7-45 pm when he was not at home. Police got some information that, Biswajit was busy with selling of illegal liquor. As Biswajit was not at home, police ransacked his entire room and furniture. Even his bed-ridden 16 years old girl who was under post-operative treatment not got spared from police rebuke and humiliation.
Locale people could not bear with the incident. They alleged that, though the job of Biswajit can;t be supported, but the atrocities of police could also not be tolerated.
Moreover, there remained more such businessmen in the neighbourhood. But police never raided their household. Could police never be humane enough became the question here ?
