KAILASHAHAR, September 26 (TIWN): Demanding to renovate the Assam-Agartala National Highway, District Congress is going to stage a road blockade for continues 2-hour on September 28, said PCC President Birajit Sinha on Friday while addressing a press conference at Kailashahar Congress Bhawan.
Elaborating the road blockade, PCC President said that the blockade will begin from morning 11 am and will continue till 1 pm in the afternoon. Altogether at eight places picketing will be staged from
Churraibari to Khoyerpur.
Talking to the media on Friday at Kailashahar congress Bhawan Pradesh Congress Committee President Birajit Sinha said that Agartala – Assam National Highway 44 is the life line of Tripura. He further mentioned that recently it has turned to death trap and has been in deplorable condition for prolonged many days.
This initiative has been taken by the Congress to draw the attention of the Central Government, said PCC President. Besides, he also criticized on the discontinuation of work which was going on at Kailashahar – Kumarghat for the double lane road.
However, he further mentioned that if the demands are not accepted than they would be bound to go for massive agitation.
