KAILASHAHAR, Sept 22 (TIWN): Journalist Union on Monday met Unakoti DM Mrinal Kanti Nath and SP Jal Singh Meena placed and asked to take action against the accused who are involved in attacking 5 journalists on the night of Vishwakarma Puja.

According to the sources, 5 journalists had been beaten here at Kailashhar for voicing against the hook-lines prevailed during the Vishwakarma Puja.

According to the journalists, he electricity dept. itself was involved in this illegal activity following which Journalists namely journalists recorded the scenario within their cameras. The recording was done on Friday night during Vishwakarma Puja.

However, with the outburst of the news, the dept.’s employees showed their outrage upon them and beaten them brutally. Bidyut Baidya and Raju Dev are among the 2 most injured journalists, who are admitted in hospital.

Moreover, a master plan had been made to deal with these journalists.  With the help of police, against 2 of the journalists FIR has been lodged on that very night by electricity dept.’s employees.

However on behalf of these journalists FIR also has been lodged with Kailashahar P S.

Allegations has been coming against Kailashahar Electricity department to use hook-line at Electricity office itself, during the Viswakarma Puja. Police is further investigating the cases.

But due to the slow investigation by police, Journalist Association on Monday met the DM & SP both in favour of the beaten journalists.
