AGARTALA, September 20 (TIWN): To mark the auspicious occasion of the 27th Foundation Day of the Adyasakti Mahila Seba Kendra on Sunday, an exhibition of Handicrafts and blood donation camp has been organized at Press Club.
Inaugurating the programme, Governor Tathagata Roy expressed delight for the women coming forward and preparing the hand made products.
Appreciating the effort, Governor further said that more women should come forward and brush up their skill so that people come to know their talents. Besides, they can eve set their own business with an aim to become self sufficient.
Therefore, more women should be encouraged and trained to brush up their skill so that they can lead their life with dignity.
However, during the programme Governor Tathagata Roy walked around the exhibition and appreciated the effort paid by the women to prepare the handmade items with bamboo, cloths and many others.
Handicrafts are more precisely expressed as artisanal handmade products. It is of wide variety of types of work where useful and decorative objects are made completely by hand or by using only simple tools.
It is made traditionally and applies to a wide range of creative and design activities that are related to making things with one's hands and skill, including work with textiles and rigid materials, paper, plant fibers, etc.
