KAMALPUR, SEPTEMBER 07, (TIWN): On the eve of ensuing Nagar Panchayat and Municipal election, the Trinamool Congress party launched political propaganda. After a considerable period of numbness, the party organized a workers’ meet at Halhuli here at Kamalpur.
Amidst the decreasing influence of the party in Tripura, TMC at last resolved to get some sort of momentum from the only TMC-Congress coalition panchayat of the state, Halhuli. As a result a workers’ meet was organized at the local S.B. school yesterday. In that meet TMC State Chairman Ratan Chakraborty, TMC Khowai President Manoj Das and other heavyweight leaders remained present. The leaders sharply criticised the present Central and State government as well the role of Congress. In that meet 39 CPIM supporter voters from 14 families joined TMC.
Amidst the surging influence of CPIM throughout the state, such move by the voters made the political analysts stunned. However, how long MC could continue their political activities still remained the question.
