AGARTALA, SEPTEMBER4 (TIWN): Cricket is a gentleman game, but the players seem not so gentle which came to lime light after a Ranji team player Tushar Das physically assaulted Photo Journalist Sukhen Sharma at Bodhjung Chowmuhani Friday morning.

The incident took place when Photo Journalist Sukhen Sharma was heading towards Budhjong Chowmuhani in his motor cycle; and Tushar Das without any fault of Sukhen abused him with unparliamentarily words. When Sukhen wanted to know the reason he started assaulting with punch on his face. The cricketer even tried to hit him with an iron rod. It is also alleged that he even snatched away Sukhen’s golden chain and flee away from the place of occurrence.

Later Sukhen registered a complaint with East Agartala police station about the incident where as there is no report of arrest so far.

When the news of physical assaulted reached the journalist fraternity serious resentment brewed.Tripura Journalist Union and Tripura Photo journalist union has lodged complaint with the East Police station but so far no action is taken. The entire working journalist has decided to stage a massive protest in the coming days if police doesn’t take any action.

It is mentionable the few days back civil service officer of Khowai misbehaved with some  reporters in the office itself.
