AGARTALA, August 29 (TIWN): Late Anil Sarkar’s 76th birth anniversary will be observed on September 1st, announced in a press meet held at Agartala Press Club on Friday organised by Anil Sarkar Research Foundation.
In this programme on September 1st Tapan Chakraborty, Minister of Education(School and Higher) will be presented on this occasion. Ratan Bhowmik, Minister for Welfare of Scheduled Cast ,Public Works (Drinking Water and Sanitation) and Tourism will be presented on this programme. As the president Ranajit Saha will be presented.
It’s to be mentioned that Anil Sarkar was born September 1, 1939, the day of outbreak of the Second World War, at Kachua village of Commilla district,( now in Bangladesh). His father Mahesh Chandra Sarkar was a middle peasant. He started his school education in Iswar Pathshala, a reputed school in Comilla town. After passing matriculation, his family migrated to Tripura in the fifties. He got admitted in MBB College in Agartala. While studying in college, he came in touch with the communist party and organised Students’ Federation in the college. Anil Sarkar passed BA (Hon.) in Bengali literature brilliantly and completed MA from Kolkata University.
