AGARTALA, August 24 (TIWN): Tripura State Council for Science and Technology on Monday organized a West District Level Science Communicators’ Conclave at Press Club.
While addressing the programme, Science, Technology and Environment Minister said that the process of science is a way of building knowledge about the universe, constructing new ideas that illuminate the world around us.
Technology is lacking in developing countries and this contributes to widespread poverty and a lack of basic amenities such as clean, running water and food supplies, said Science and Technology minister Bijita Nath, in the inaugural ceremony of the day long district level science communicators conclave organized by Tripura state council for science and technology at Agartala Press Club here this afternoon.
She further said one must focuses on science and technology to improve and develop. It would help to omit the gap between the developing world and the developed world which has occurred due to lack of technology.
New technology boosts food production, improve infrastructure, improve healthcare and provide sanitation facilities could dramatically change the quality of life in the developing world, she added.
During the technical session of the programme, Principal Scientific Officer and InCharge of TSAC Nataraj Datta discussed on the topic Science Movement in Present Scenario.
Besides, Co-ordinator of Gomati District Scince Forum, Ayan Kumar Saha discussed on Communicating Science through Science Forum and Assistant Convener Tripura Bijnana Mancha Saibal Roy on Role of Teachers in Science Communication.
