KAILASAHAR, Aus 24 (TIWN): With the aim to make the women self sufficient in Handloom and Handicrafts skilled work, the department of Handloom, handicrafts and sericulture has taken the initiative to give training to 30 women in the preliminary step in handloom and handicrafts.
Following this, a committee meeting is also organised in the hall room of the kailsahar Gundarpur panchayat samiti office on Sunday to aware the women about the importance of the handloom.
The Handicrafts Sector plays a significant & important role in the state economy. It provides employment to a vast segment of people in rural & semi urban areas and generates substantial income, while preserving its cultural heritage.
The meeting discussed on the projects which will be undertaken to help and support the women of the society to make them self sufficient in the coming days.
An amount of 49 lakhs are sanctioned for the project and according at the first level a total of 30 women will be trained and then the numbers will be increased.
Zilla Parishad former Sobhadipoti Lokhon Kar, Gaurnagar panchayat Samiti Chairperson Mrs. Shanti Saha along with other dignitaries remained present in the program.
