AGARTALA, August 22 (TIWN): The government of India had recently launched 2 schemes for providing access of electricity to all households ensuing 24 hours service. In view of implementing the schemes the Tripura government had urged the North East Regional Power Corporation (NERPC) to consider sanction full Direct Project Report (DPR) value, said Power Minister Manik Dey on Friday.
Briefing the NERPC meeting Dey told to reporters at the civil secretariat that indication of allocation in regard of implementation of centrally sponsored schemes given to northeastern region states appears to be substantially low though DPR covering full scope of work matching the objective of the scheme have already been submitted.
“I urged the Ministry of Power (MoP) to consider sanction of sull DPR value in this regard,” adding Dey said that government of India has launched two schemes to ensure 24x7 power service to all household of the states’ urban and rural areas.
The government had launched Deendayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY) for rural areas and another IPDS scheme for urban areas for providing access of electricity to all households and ensuring 24 hours power service for all.
