AGARTALA, August 19 (TIWN): On yet another wing to the state urban development department a new separate cell has been planned to be formed under the Urban Directorate to get the centrally sponsored schemes implemented in a smoother way in the state, said state Urban Development Minister Manik Dey on Wednesday.
He said that the separate cell would have one Chief Engineer, two superintendent engineers, four executive engineers, 7 assistant engineers and around 42 Junior Engineers. The department would seek the candidates from the state Public Work Department (PWD), he said.
“The main objective to form a separate cell is to monitor and boost up the works under the centrally sponsored schemes including Smart Cities Mission, Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) and Housing for All schemes.”
The central government had recently introduced the schemes to get implemented in every states including Tripura, Dey said.
He also added that after getting the details of the schemes and the funding pattern of the schemes the state government would take further initiatives.
