AGARTALA, August 19 (TIWN): Demanding for 5 days of remand, A. D Nagar police on Tuesday dragged mafia Goutam Chakraborty to the lower court. As the police need more time to interrogate about him, confirmed police sources.
It has been mentioned that earlier the police had produced him in front of the lower court where the lower court has sent him for five days of remand.
As the five days of remand has been completed on Tuesday, the A. D Nagar police on August 18 forwarded mafia Goutam Chakraborty to the lower court demanding for five days of remand.
Mafia Goutam Chakraborty, who is the resident of North Badharghat was arrested on August 12 after he has been recovered with at least two foreign made live grenade bombs and one pistol.
According to police report, Goutam Chakraborty who is known to be broker and engaged in land deal business had threatened and attacked a middle aged widow namely Gopa Debnath of Badharghat area by showing her showing foreign made pistol with at least two live grenade bombs on his pocket.
Later, getting an alarm the locals rushed to the spot and managed to detain the accused mafia Goutam Chakroborty after disarming him and handed over with the police. The angry mobs also broke his 4 wheelers vehicle which accused Goutam Chakroborty carried with him.
According to the police report, widow Gopa Debnath had sold her land and was busy engaged with money transaction with the bank staff at her home, when mafia Goutam Chakraborty managed to enter her house and asked for money which he was supposed to get from her expired husband, but later after she refused to pay the money he attacked her brutally and let her down in the ground floor from the living room.
Scuffling with her mafia Goutal Chakroborty took out his pistol and was about to fire on her but the local getting an alarm rushed to the spot and managed to disarm him.
She was later immediately taken to the Hapania Government Medical College with her condition critical as she was brutally injured during the scuffling took place in her house.
