KAMALPUR, AUGUST 18, (TIWN): MGNREGA wages dispute created another unrest and resultant road blockade at Jagannathpur under Ambassa, here on Monday. The MGNREGA workers blocked the Ambassa-Gandacharra for more than two hours as they are not getting their wages for 39 days. At last SDM rushed to the spot and resolved the deadlock.
In the Jagannathpur VC the MGNREGA workers allegely had long been deprived of their wages. They got dates after dates and knocked the VC office but in vain. Once again they were given appointment on Monday, with the assurance of getting wages.
But when they reached there, the Secretary informed them of not having the wages. As a result, the tempted workers locked the VC office and then blocked the Ambassa-Gandacharra road for more than two hours.
Hearing this, the SDM Ajit Kumar rushed to the spot and assured the labourers to remedy the matter soon. Then the blockade ended.
