AGARTALA, August 18 (TIWN): Consumers’ Protection Association, Tripura and Mankind Awareness Platform, Tripura on Monday organized a workshop on Food Fortification: Drive against Mal-Nutrition at Press Club.
The programme was organized with the joint collaboration of CII, Face and Gain. However, ithas been supported by Consumer Voice of New Delhi.
However, Deputy Food Safety Commissioner, Department of family Welfare and Preventive Medicine Dr. B. D Saha gave speech over food safety.
Food safety is a scientific discipline describing handling, preparation, and storage of food in ways that prevent food borne illness.
This includes a number of routines that should be followed to avoid potentially severe health hazards. In this way Food Safety often overlaps with Food Defence to prevent harm to consumers.
Besides, Specialist in Diabetic of GB Hospital Dr. Swapan Sarkar discussed about deficiency of Micro Nutrients in India.
However, a presentation of food fortification was given by CII, FACE and GAIN. Besides, the question answer session was guided by Dr. Mihir Pal, Drug Controller (Rtd.), Government of Tripura and Amritlal Saha, he is the Ex-Chairman of CCC, President of CPA, Tripura.
