AGARTALA, August 16 (TIWN): Keeping eye on the upcoming Municipal Corporation election of the state, Opposition Leader Sudip Roy Barman on Sunday urged to hold protest against corruption at all the 49 wards at a press conference of Sadar Distrit Congress Committee.
Barman said that the ex-members of the party who have left the party and joined the other parties were not the true to the party. Instead, the members who are being with the party all the time are the true members and have the guts to fight against corruption for the people of the state.
However, Opposition slammed the draft of the delimitation of the civic bodies by the ruling movement and gave a new proposal for delimitation of civic bodies and encircled DM office.
A protest rally was organized which moved across several parts of the city, encircled DM office demanding modifications in the draft publication of the delimitation of the civic bodies which was done according to constructive position of the ruling party, alleged congress.
Opposition leader Sudip Roy Barman said that the delimitation is done illegally without considering the economy, geographical location and population of the areas.
He also alleged that the draft is totally manipulated and done under the track laid by the ruling government, ruling party has used their powers to prepare the delimitation of civic bodies.
He further asked the members to create public relation with the people of the state and to stand beside the people when they are in need.
