KHOWAI, August 15 (TIWN): The Tripura Khowai District Trinamool Congress activists on Friday demanded the resignation of Senior Deputy Magistrate, Khowai Pankaj Chakroborty for allegedly updating a status making an adverse statement against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banarjee in a social networking site.

It was alleged that Chakroborty had made and adverse statement against Mamata regarding the flood fury in Bengal.

Demanding for his resignation the Trinamool activists had gheraud the Khowai DM Office on Friday and later after several persuasions DM N Darlong managed to hear the activists and took a stock of the situation.

He assured that the authority would take a necessary action against Pankaj Chakroborty, DM first asked the activists to file a written complaint following which the Trinamool leaders acted same.

They are in opinion that how could a TCS Officer make political statement and that too commenting bad against Political leader and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banarjee. However, the status being updated in the social networking site had triggered a huge resentment among a section of political bodies.
