KAMALPUR, August 11, (TIWN): The surging wave of SFI-led students’ unrest took another school of the Kamalpur town under its grip. The students of Girls’ SB School adjacent to SDM office and Nagar Panchayat office at the heart of the town organized an hour’s seat and demonstration in front of the school premise today.
The school seriously suffered due to the lack of drinking water, classrooms and teacher. The school had only six classrooms instead of eight. And the classrooms got in such a deplorable condition that the 188 students caught under possibility of any serious accident.
Moreover only 12 teachers got deployed in the school. Besides the school had no dining room and hence the students had to take Mid day Meal at the open verandahs.
The school also had not adequate numbers of black-boards and benches. To remedy all these problems, the SFI led the students to organize seat and demonstration today. While interacting with media persons, the HM Chitra Bhattacharjee also admitted the facts. Now what steps the higher authority adopts is the matter to be seen.
