AGARTALA, August 9 (TIWN): Although the state govt. has failed to provide jobs to the qualified youths of the state, govt. with its full strives is setting up the State University to provide “Quality educationâ€.
On August 7, Tripura Legislative assembly tabled the report of the Select Committee on Maharaja Bir Bikram University Bill, 2015 aiming to provide quality education in the state. Higher Education Minister Tapan Chakroborty, along with 11 members of select committee covers the amendments recommended by its members. On July 31 last, the committee granted the amendments and approved the report. The total estimated amount will be Rs. 14 crore for the maintenance of the proposed university.
This will be a separate University for the state although a central university is there already.
The govt. colleges are run by guest lecturers with 6 months of contact, in the name of “lack of qualified candidates”. But surprisingly many NET qualified or PHD holders are unemployed as the govt. is busy to run the colleges by guest lecturers, who are just simple Master degree holders. This is the way quality education is providing in colleges and now another University is building up to spread higher education at Tripura .
After passing from Tripura University with degrees, youths are depriving from jobs as Tripura lacks oppurtunities in both industries and other private sectors. As business profile here is very poor, people here can not also earn much from private sectors. As a result a frustration is triggered among the youths of state.
Inputs are increasing, but what are the outputs of education here? Day by day many degree holders are expanding, as expanding unemployed too.
In this situation state govt. has brought another plan to create more crisis of job by setting up a State University. Every year from this University many students will pass out. So including state and Central University a large number of students would pass out every year and suffer from jobless situation.
