AGARTALA, August 9 (TIWN): A free screening camp for Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C was conducted on Saturday at Frontier HQ, BSF Salbagan. The camp was organized by Composite Hospital, BSF, Agartala with the collaboration of Mylan Pharmaceuticals, a Kolkata based Pharma Company.

BSF jawans and officers along with the members of their family attended the screening camp. More than around 200 BSF personnel along with their family members were screened for Hepatitis B and C.

The camp was inaugurated by Dr. D. P. Patnaik, DIG (Medical) Composite Hospital, Salbagan.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. D. B. Patnaik said that people should be made aware of diseases like Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C since these diseases if not diagnosed and treated early may lead to Liver injury and subsequently death due to Liver Cancer.
