AGARTALA, August 7 (TIWN): Chief Secretary Yashpal Singh was all praise for Thursday’s Tripura Conclave that discussed the challenges and prospects of IT industry in the state.
The Tripura Conclave is a private initiative of Saumen Sarker, Vice President of Bank of America who also editor of www.tripurainfoway .com .
Former BBC bureau chief Subir Bhaumik , who like Sarker hails from Tripura, had joined hands to start the Tripura Conclave as an annual brainstorming exercise on issues of importance for the future of Tripura.
Yashpal Singh praised Saumen Sarker and Subir Bhaumik for the initiative that has helped bring some top IT honchos and foreign diplomats on a platform where the state government showcased its package of incentives for those investing in Tripura.
“You are doing our work, you are helping us in a big way,” Yashpal Singh said , pointing to Saumen Sarkar on the dias.
“We need many more Saumen Sarkers if this state has to flourish,” Singh said.
Governor Tathagata Roy was also all praise for the Conclave.
“This is a splendid private initiative to bring IT industry to Tripura. It deserves full support from all quarters,” Roy said.
