AGARTALA, Aug 6 (TIWN): The monsoon session of Tripura Assembly is scheduled to commence from Friday. It will be a brief session which will be concluded within four working days.
An ultimate decision was taken in a meeting at the state cabinet.
It is expected that the monsoon session will begin in a tempestuous note as opposition is all set to put up the issue of Food Security Act.
It is to be mentioned here that raising voice against the rampant corruption in various parts of the state, especially against the Food Security Act, the congress staged a mass protest and placed a memorandum to SDM (Sadar) Manik Lal Das demanding to take a strict action to bring down the corruption in the state.
The opposition had been clamoring for an early monsoon session to discuss issues of chit fund scam; Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyaan RMSA and Bishalgarh block scam in which crores of government funds had been embezzled.
However, the sources had confirmed that the issues of embezzlement of money, scandals by the state government will be discussed during the budget session.
It is to be mentioned here that the newly elected MLA of Pratapgarh and Surma Constituency Ramu Das and Anjan Das will attend the session for the first time.
