AGARTALA, August 5 (TIWN): Concerning the rampant corruption in various parts of the state, especially against the Food Security Act, the congress to raise the issue of Food Security Act at the monsoon budget session from August 7.
The monsoon session of Tripura Assembly will commence from August 7. It will be a brief session with only four working days.
The Opposition had been clamouring for an early monsoon session to discuss issues of chit fund scam, Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyaan and Bishalgarh block scam in which crores of government funds had been embezzled.
he congress raised allegation saying that the draft list prepared in most of the sub-division under the Food Security Act includes the name of the rich cadres instead of the real section of people who are the genuine beneficiaries of the Act.
Without taking any views from the Opposition, the Left-front government has engaged themselves in preparing the BPL draft list. Even the elected representatives of opposition political parties have not been taken into confidence and the entire lists are being prepared by the party cadres, claimed the congress.
However, the party is also scheduled to call for a meeting on August 6.
