KAMALPUR, August 4 (TIWN): TSECL Circle office or the office of the Additional General Manager at Kumarghat came under the serious allegation of prevalent bribery-raj. The staffs of the TSECL from different Sub-divisions and Divisions alleged about the prevailing situation in the office. Moreover, a highly placed source of that office also admitted the fact.

The office at Ashram pally, Kumarghat dealt with the pension and GPF matters of employees under North, Unakoti and Dhalai district. And the treasury function got conducted at Kailasahar.

As the employees of TSECL in these three districts had no other means but to rush to that office for their pension and GPF related matters hence the employees of that office happily demanded and accepted bribery.

 Whether a pension related matter or withdrawal of money from GPF, the employees had to give bribe to the section in-charges on percentage rate. And depending on the amount and urgency of work, the percentage hovered from 10 to 15 percent. No employee could withdraw GPF or could do pension related works without paying bribes in advance.

Sources claimed that the GPF section in-charge Lukapriyo Dewan mainly controlled the bribery segment. And to make the practice a well versed the AGM Samaresh Das often remained out of the office.

Although several times many employees knocked the AGM about the situation but no step adopted yet.
